Following our previous "Focus Group Visiting..." specials, this time we are going to where some of Europe's biggest computing tasks are handled: to the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) at Forschungszentrum Jülich.

Together we will visit JUPITER – Europe's first Exascale supercomputer. With a computing power of more than a trillion operations per second, JUPITER opens up completely new possibilities for scientific simulations and, in particular, for the training and deployment of large AI models.

During an approximately one-hour JUPITER tour, we will get a direct insight into the infrastructure behind this extraordinary computing power and learn more about supercomputing, AI, and the technical dimensions of a system of this magnitude.

The excursion is organized by our AI Events Special Interest Group.

Visitor passes must be created in advance for access to the research centre. Therefore, we need the following information upon registration:

• Last name and first name as they appear on your ID card or passport

• Date and place of birth

• Nationality

• Place of residence

The provided ID card or passport must be presented at the gate upon entry.

The number of participants is limited to 20 people – so early registration is worthwhile.
