Denken in komplexen Systemen – Voraussetzung für echte Nachhaltigkeit?

We are repeatedly confronted with the fact that activities do not have the desired effect. In order for solutions to work, it can be helpful to take a closer look at the complexity of the problem to be solved - and not just aim to combat the symptoms.

Thinking in complex systems is a challenge for many, but it can be trained. In 1987, systems researcher and member of the Club of Rome Prof. Frederic Vester published the cybernetic environmental game Ecolopoly.

In Ecolopoly, players take on the role of the government of the fictitious industrialized country of Cybernetia. With the help of action points, which can be "invested" in various areas such as production, renovation, environmental protection or education, the aim is to increase the quality of life and stabilize the habitat. The investments then lead to a chain of further effects and repercussions. Depending on the "success" of the measures, there are further action points that can in turn be invested in measures.

In a first round, everyone is allowed to try things out. We will then discuss the results and play a second round if necessary.

We have three games available so that we can play with up to 18 people.
